A Pike County man has been sentenced to probation after admitting to possessing child sexual abuse material. Isaac Dorsey, 37, of Griggsville, pleaded guilty to three counts of Class 2 felony child pornography and was given four years’ probation, 180 days in jail, and a fine by Judge J. Frank McCartney. Dorsey, who must register as a sex offender, received credit for time already served in the Pike County Jail. The case began in May 2024 when authorities received information about his activity, leading to his arrest in June following a traffic stop and a search of his home. Originally charged with 10 counts, Dorsey was previously released from prison to work on his family farm and train with the Illinois National Guard. The investigation was led by Pike County Chief Deputy Zack Orr, a member of the Illinois Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The City of Pittsfield announced it will be oiling and chipping several streets on Friday, August 29. Roads scheduled for work include Conroy, South and North Orchard, Oklahoma, East and West Kellogg, Liberty, East and West South Monroe, the South Monroe cross section, Meadow Creek, Knapp Lane, and Gay Street. Drivers are urged to use caution, watch for workers and equipment, and avoid freshly treated areas when possible as crews work to improve city streets.

A Jerseyville man has been sentenced to two years in prison for threatening Greene County Sheriff Rob McMillen with “great bodily harm and death.” Toby L. Seymoure, 23, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of threatening a public official and will also serve six months of supervised release, with credit for 250 days already served. Arrested in December, Seymoure originally faced additional charges—including aggravated battery of a peace officer and aggravated assault—that were dismissed as part of the plea deal. State’s Attorney Craig M. Grummel said the case underscores the seriousness of threats against law enforcement, praising Sheriff McMillen and local police for their professionalism and dedication throughout the proceedings.
